LIVE@5 – Episode #1!

Starting on March 16, 2020, we decided to do a live broadcast of a piano lesson from Kirk. For the next 49 days we were live every day at 5:00pm with more “great†content. We’re excited to open up the vault and bring these episodes back to life here on the blog.

This first episode introduces scales. But not in a boring, traditional way. We’ll give you the major scale, blues scale, pentatonic scale and even a cool “Arabian†scale. Kirk also shares the Parable of Painting the Wall.

Kirk Taylor began playing professionally right after graduating from high school. He has toured the Soviet Union with BYU’s Young Ambassadors, performed everywhere from the Red Onion to Rawhide.

As a teaching professional, he has worked with 1000s of students since 1989. His approach is infectious and inspiring.

Ok, enough flowery stuff. Kirk is a pretty regular dude who just happened to get lucky and be half-way decent at playing piano and teaching. He’s been blessed beyond what he deserves with a patient wife and five amazing kids.
