Flora Mogerman
Tier III Piano Instructor
Even though she was accepted at The Juilliard School in NYC, Flora attended Manhattan School of Music on scholarship and completed her Master’s of Music there. (they offered her more money) 🙂
Flora played for rehearsals for the original West Side Story with Leonard Bernstein. She has also worked with John Rutter in Cambridge, England. After relocating to AZ from NYC in the 60s, she taught at Scottsdale Community College for 30 years, while also accompanying the Phoenix Boys Choir for 15 years. In addition, she has won five AriZoni awards for her work with Musical Theater here in the Valley.
Flora is absolutely brilliant on all sides of the piano: Classical, Jazz, Sight-reading, Improvising, you name it and she can do it. From beginner to advanced, Flora can teach all levels of piano. In short, turns out she’s also an exceptional piano instructor. And if that wasn’t enough, Flora has perfect pitch! Go ahead, test her. We are thrilled to be Flora’s studio of choice for private instruction.
Flora has been with ASM since 2019.
