Anoushka fell in love with strings long before she ever held a guitar. At age 9, she taught her little fingers to strum her uke effortlessly, with her voice naturally weaving into the melody. It came as no surprise that her only request on her 10th birthday was an acoustic guitar!
Although she had a few years of piano lessons under her belt, she quickly pledged her loyalty to her acoustic much to her piano teacher’s dismay. In 2019 she started at ASM with Billy for her first lesson…and the rest is history.
As every good guitarist does, she added electric guitar, and has grown in leaps and bounds as a musician. With an uncanny sense of rhythm, an eclectic music style that defies categorization and her soulful voice to back, she has matured tremendously as a performer – and continues to delight audiences whether at school talent nights, family events, concerts or casual jam sessions at home.
Her other loves include boards of any kind – be it skate or surf – and she’s always up for trying a snowboard in a pinch! As she excels in her academic pursuits and passionately volunteers for causes close to her heart, she is starting to explore college and career paths with excitement. Yet she knows this with certainty: her Fender will be her steadfast companion, no matter where life takes her.
She’s thrilled to be a part of the staff at ASM and pass along her love of music and guitar to all of her students.
