Linda Edwards
Piano Instructor

Originally a farm girl from Iowa, Ms. Linda began her private piano studies at the age of 7. By the time she was 15, she was the organist at the local church and accompanied the choir and while attending high school accompanied the high school chorus. She attended North Iowa Community College in Mason City, Iowa receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing. Upon moving to Arizona in 1993, she attended Scottsdale Community College and Grand Canyon University in Phoenix for a music degree, where she again accompanied individual soloists and the university chorale.
Ms. Linda has been teaching for the last twenty-five years and enjoys teaching privately as it affords the student the opportunity to move at his or her own pace. She encourages each student in the type of music he or she would like to study. However, she does incorporate other forms of music, thus, introducing a wider range of musicality. Her students range from beginners to advanced, young children to adults.
What she enjoys most about teaching are seeing her students excited about learning and sharing her love for the piano in creating music not only for personal enjoyment but for others and seeing the personal growth in each student as they advance in their learning.

Ms. Linda’s early training was mostly classical, however, over the years she enjoys playing a variety of music. Her philosophy is to learn to play for enjoyment, and in time for others. She believes in moving at a student’s pace and being open to allow her students to play songs they enjoy, not what is always expected. She incorporates technique along with theory into her teaching because she wants her students to be pianists, not just piano players. Ms. Linda looks forward to meeting you and teaching you how to enjoy the piano as much as she does.
