Alexis Ward
Guitar, Voice, Piano
Alexis Ward is a professional guitarist, singer, and composer. Born into an artistic family, Alexis’s childhood was shaped by musical theater classes taught by her mother. She attended UNC School of the Arts from 2016-2023, majoring in classical guitar in the high school and college programs. While at UNCSA, she explored songwriting and formed a band with her siblings, Water the Band. In 2020, they released their debut album, “Everyone’s Home.” This was also the year Alexis began her private teaching studio and has maintained guitar students ever since. In 2021, Alexis co-founded Suncatcher Players, a nonprofit theater company that produces original theater works by middle school aged students, and served as Music Director. In two years, Suncatcher Players produced two original musicals, four original plays, a sketch comedy show, and a short film. Alexis’ most recent project is a commissioned album of original music she co-wrote and produced with her sister, “A Watcher Floating,” under the name Spun Diamonds. This project was released in September 2024.
In 2025 she decided to head to the desert and began her search for the most inspiring music school she could find. It didn’t take her long to find Arizona School of Music and she’s been teaching at ASM ever since.
